Carers
Who is a carer?
You are a Carer if you provide unpaid help and support to a partner, child, friend, relative or neighbour who could not manage without your help.
The person you look after might have a physical or learning difficulty, be ill or frail, have mental health problems or misuse drugs or alcohol. You do not have to live with the person you care for to receive free support.
Why it’s important to let us know you’re a carer
Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also have an impact on your own health & wellbeing. By identifying yourself as a carer, we can make sure you receive the right support and understanding from our team. This also includes flexible appointment times, annual health checks and flu vaccinations to help you stay well.
We can also refer you for local support as well as share information of national services, support groups and resources. Remember; caring for yourself is an important part of caring for someone else.
