Detailed Access to Your Medical Records Flu & COVID Booster Information Young Persons Social Prescribing Service
We receive hundreds of investigation results a week and do not routinely contact patients with their results, though we would endeavour to do so if a result was seriously abnormal.
Patients should allow one week after having their test before contacting the surgery for the results. This allows time for the results to reach the surgery and for a GP to to review and comment on the result. Please note that if your test was requested by a consultant during an outpatient appointment, the result will go back to your consultant, not the surgery.
If you have online access to your records, you can now see your results online once they have been reviewed by a clinician. Please see our page regarding setting up online access to your medical records
When telephoning the surgery for test results, please avoid the busiest times if you can (i.e. 8.00 – 9.00am, 1.45pm – 2.30pm). The receptionist will tell you what message the doctor has recorded. The reception team are unable to interpret the results themselves. If you do not understand the doctor’s message please ask the receptionist to arrange a telephone call from the doctor or nurse.
For investigations ordered by a consultant, hospital or specialist centre, you will need to contact the service to obtain the results. We do not receive electronic copies of results ordered by other organisations.
