Princess Alexandra Hospital is now operating an appointment system to provide blood tests for all patients which will ensure social distancing.
This service is available at the outpatients departments at The Princess Alexandra Hospital, St Margarets Hospital, and Herts and Essex Hospital.
The booking line is open from Monday to Friday, 8.30am 2.30pm. You can contact the team on 01279 827163 or via their website at https://www.pah.nhs.uk/our-services/service/blood-tests-30/
Where possible, patients will need to enter the site on their own. Carers who are not required to assist the patient will be asked to wait outside
Patients who attend without an appointment will still be seen during a changeover period if the numbers waiting and social distancing allow
For shielding patients only

Childhood Vaccination Programme
All children due vaccinations must still have them. This is important because disruption to immunisation programmes during a panedmic can result in an increase in vaccine preventable diseases - leaving children at risk.
We are able to offer baby immunisations for children under the age of 1 at our Thorley branch and preschool immunisations at Church Street surgery.
We are now offering appointments for removal and fitting of contraceptive implants. Please contact our surgery to book an appointment with a nurse.
The Cervical Screening Administration process will restart cervical screening invitations and reminder letters on Saturday 6th June 2020 initially for patients on early recall. If you have received a letter inviting you for cervical screening, please telephone the surgery to book an appointment with one of our nurses.
We continue to offer antenatal appointments for women over 28 weeks at Church Street on a Tuesday, and South Street on a Thursday. Women under 28 weeks may be offered a telephone consultation with the community midwife.
We have been working hard to ensure our patients are able to access a high standard of quality care from our practice. We are able to offer patients (who wish to participate) in a video consultation with a clinician.
Please let our reception team know that you are happy to be contacted by video link. A weblink will be sent to your mobile phone number where you will be invited to join a secure, confidential video consultation with a clinician. Please ensure that you inform the practice of your most up to date telephone contact details.
Everyone can now have a test if they have symptoms. Testing should be within 3 days from the onset of any symptoms. Please do not book a test if you are not symptomatic and until you have received your results, you and your household MUST STAY HOME. For information on how to book a test, please see the link below.
Test and Trace
The Govenment have now launched Testing and Tracing for people who have tested positive for Coronavirus. For further information about how this works please see the link below
